Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Healing the Face, Neck & Spirit- from the Inside Out

Facial rejuvenation is more than a cosmetic acupuncture treatment—it’s a holistic healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that restores vitality from the inside out.

It is more than skin deep. Each feature of your face reflects the story of your internal world—its organs, emotions, and energetic flow. This is facial therapy as soul care.

At its core, this therapy enhances both external beauty and internal health by harmonizing the body’s energy systems.

What Facial Rejuvenation Helps

  • Relieves TMJ, Bell’s Palsy, and post-stroke facial asymmetry
  • Soothes chronic neck tension and emotional overwhelm
  • Calms nervous system for better sleep and digestion
  • Headaches
  • Acne, Rosacea, broken capillaries
  • Constitutional imbalances
  • *Balancing emotions, reducing stress,
  • *Calming the mind and anxieties, PTSD.
  • *Poor sleep, irritability, and stuck emotions.

A truly holistic face-lift!

What it is

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture uses ultra-fine needles to stimulate specific points on the face and body.
These micro-insertions create gentle microtraumas that:

•Boost collagen and elastin production
• Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
• Relax overactive muscles and tone underactive ones
• Enhance skin texture, tone, and elasticity.

But the magic doesn’t stop at the surface.

Beauty Reflects Health

In TCM, the face is a mirror of internal health. Each facial zone corresponds to an organ system. By treating the whole body—through body acupuncture—we address the root causes of imbalance that manifest as:
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Puffiness or sagging
• Acne, rosacea, or dull skin

•Emotional stress, poor sleep, and fatigue

Your treatments are customized and evolve weekly.

*Microneedling is usually performed as a standalone treatment without other modalities. Treats wrinkles, age spots, pores, scars, skin tone. Micro-Needling stimulates collagen production and new skin cells. You will see reduction of fine lines and wrinkles! Recommended 1 time per month. Frequency depends upon area treated like face, scalp, or abdomen. It also depends upon the healing speed of the individual. It can be 1-4 times per month.

Buccal Massage

Lifting & Sculpting Facial Massage

The most important part to help relax tense muscles, return normal muscle tone, improve lymphatic drainage, and return shape of face to normal. NeoLifting facial massage, Buccal Massage, or Gua Sha Skin rubbing.

Professional Facial Cupping

Decongesting effect. Allows movement of impurities, and toxins via better blood and lymph flow. Improved oxygenation and blood supply, nutrient supply. Allows for cellular regeneration and repair. It can Neuro modulate the nerve. Removes adhesions, and nerve compressions. This is from the effect of tissue detachment allowing release of fascia and contracted muscles. Assists Facial nerve paralysis. Increased absorption of skin care products.

Gua Sha Compression Facial

Can be translated as skin rubbing. Other practitioners often refer to Gua Sha as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IAST). As cupping lifts the skin up and away from underlying tissue, the gua sha tool is pressed into the skin, and muscles as you glide along treatment areas. It can help with deep wrinkles, sagging, facial discoloration and under eye puffiness. • Detoxifies the face • Great for Rosacea • Very beneficial for lip wrinkles, crow's feet, Nasolabial folds and forehead lines.

Why it Works

Facial acupuncture taps into the body’s innate healing intelligence. By stimulating the nervous system, improving blood flow, and balancing Qi (vital energy), it promotes cellular regeneration and emotional well-being. It’s restorative medicine—beauty and health, inseparable and synergistic.

  • At the cellular level, gentle needling increases microcirculation, bringing fresh oxygen and nutrients to the skin. This supports collagen and elastin production, reduces inflammation, and improves tone and texture.
  • At the muscular level, it helps release tension patterns in the face, jaw, neck, and scalp—softening lines created by stress and expression.
  • At the lymphatic level, it encourages healthy drainage, reducing puffiness and improving clarity.
  • And at the nervous‑system level, it shifts the body out of stress mode and into repair mode, creating a natural lift that comes from true internal balance.

FAQs

Micro-Needling is the insertion of exceptionally fine short needles into the skin for the purpose of facial and skin rejuvenation. The premise is simple – create a small wound and the skin will respond with collagen production and new skin cells. Depending on the depth of the needle penetration, this can offer the simple enhancement of product absorption, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, to the clinical treatment of scars and acne.

A sterile pin head with fine short needles is used to create many
microscopic channels deep into the dermis of the skin, which
stimulate your own body to produce new collagen.

This is a natural way to rejuvenate the collagen (protein) in the skin without painful surgery, or toxic injections into your skin. It is also known as skin needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI).  The principle behind Micro and Nano-Needling Therapy is to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin, thereby reducing wrinkles, scars and improving skin texture. It also encourages
absorption of your favorite topical serum by 2000%!  A sterile pin head with fine short needles is used to create many microscopic channels deep into the dermis of the skin, which stimulate your own body to produce new collagen. These channels also improve the penetration of serums such as Vitamins C , E, Hyaluronic Acid, and Apple-Stem-Cells about 1000 times. Vitamins C, E, Hyaluronic Acid, and Apple-stem-cells stimulate skin renewal, thereby, making the skin appear fresher and younger.  In our clinic we use professional micro-needling pens that allow us to control the depth, and speed of the device. The professional pen is advanced, and it provides greater outcomes with less adverse reactions than a dermal roller. The pen head oscillates up and down at a great speed, which reduces the sensitivity of the skin. It provides smoother penetration without scratching or injuring the epidermis.

In between micro-needling sessions you can also experience Energy-Light facial rejuvenation (ELR).  The device I use is an Acutron. The probes produce a gentle microcurrent along with color light therapy.

I have been using this needless method of cosmetic acupuncture for several years. Acupuncture points are stimulated on the face that have a direct connection to your organs and glands.  I am sure you will love the results.

Treatments generally are 20-30 minutes. Energy-Light Facial Rejuvenation™ (ELR) is a complete therapeutic treatment that benefits the whole body, not only the skin and face.

Most people are surprised by how comfortable facial microneedling actually is. The collagen‑producing layer of the skin sits at only 0.5 mm, so there is no need to go deeper or cause bleeding to get results. My approach is intentionally gentle, effective, and designed for comfort.

You may feel slight tingling, itchiness, or mild irritation, but it should not feel sharp or painful. If anything feels too intense, we simply adjust the depth, speed, or technique — you are always in charge, and we can stop at any time.

For those who prefer extra comfort, a topical numbing cream is available for a small additional fee ($30), though most clients find it unnecessary at the shallow depth used for facial rejuvenation.

Because we stay within the collagen layer and avoid aggressive depths, bleeding is uncommon and not expected with this treatment style.

Yes — you can receive facial rejuvenation acupuncture if you’ve had Botox or dermal fillers. These treatments work beautifully together when timed correctly.

For Botox:
It’s best to wait 2 weeks after injections before doing facial acupuncture or microneedling. This allows the Botox to fully settle so we don’t alter its placement or diffusion.

For Fillers:
Fillers need a little more time to integrate. I recommend waiting 3–4 weeks before facial acupuncture or microneedling in the treated area. This protects the integrity of the filler and ensures the best aesthetic outcome.

Once you’re past the waiting period, facial acupuncture can actually enhance and prolong the results of injectables by improving circulation, supporting lymphatic flow, and balancing the underlying muscle patterns that contribute to lines and sagging.

If you’re ever unsure about timing, we can review your treatment history together and create a plan that supports both your cosmetic goals and your overall wellness.

Yes — facial rejuvenation acupuncture can be safely done after cosmetic surgery, and many clients find it helps support healing, reduce tension, and maintain results. The key is timing and making sure your tissues have fully recovered before we work on the area.

After a facelift or other facial surgery:
Most surgeons recommend waiting 6–12 weeks, depending on the procedure and your individual healing. This allows swelling to resolve and tissues to stabilize. Once cleared, acupuncture can help:
• Improve circulation and lymphatic flow
• Reduce residual tightness or numbness
• Support scar healing
• Restore natural muscle balance and expression

After eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty):
A shorter waiting period is typical — usually 4–6 weeks, or once your surgeon confirms you’re healed enough for gentle facial work.

After neck lift or lower‑face procedures:
These areas often benefit from acupuncture once the tissues have softened and mobility has returned. Again, the usual window is 6–12 weeks, depending on your surgeon’s guidance.

If you’re unsure, we can review your surgical timeline together and coordinate care in a way that supports both your recovery and your long‑term aesthetic goals. My approach is always gentle, restorative, and tailored to where your body is in the healing process.

LED light therapy can be a wonderful complement to facial rejuvenation acupuncture — but timing and color choice matter.

Red Light (630–660 nm):
This wavelength is most associated with collagen induction, improved circulation, and reduced inflammation. It supports skin repair and is the preferred choice for rejuvenation.

Blue Light:
Blue light targets acne‑causing bacteria and is not used for collagen production. It’s helpful for breakouts but not ideal for anti‑aging goals.

When LED is appropriate — and when it’s not
LED therapy is best done between sessions, not immediately after microneedling.
After microneedling, your skin is in a sensitive, open state, and adding LED right away can be overstimulating. Your skin needs time to settle and begin its natural repair process.

However, LED is often added while you rest with acupuncture needles in the face — and this is perfectly appropriate. Acupuncture needling is very different from microneedling. The skin is not opened in the same way, so LED can safely support circulation, relaxation, and cellular repair during the 20 minutes you rest with the needles in.

This is actually a wonderful way to make use of your resting time and enhance the overall treatment.

Best timing for LED
During acupuncture sessions: Yes — LED is a great complement.

On non‑needling days: Ideal for collagen support and skin repair.

Immediately after microneedling: Not recommended.

This timing ensures your skin receives the right kind of stimulation at the right moment, supporting both comfort and results.

The Dolphin microcurrent pen is a gentle, targeted way to stimulate acupuncture points on the face — which are also the motor points of the facial muscles. This makes it a powerful tool for releasing tension, improving tone, and supporting deeper healing.

The frequency of the Dolphin matches the natural electrical rhythm of the heart, allowing the current to enter at a cellular level and promote balance, repair, and nervous system regulation.

What it feels like:
Most people describe the sensation as sharp, warm, pulsing, or slightly electric, with a feeling that the current “travels” along the meridian pathway. It’s not a bad or painful sensation — just unusual at first. Each point is stimulated for only a few seconds, making it very tolerable, and clients consistently report loving the results.

Because it works so deeply and efficiently, the Dolphin can help:
• Release tight facial muscles
• Improve symmetry and lift
• Support lymphatic flow
• Enhance the effects of acupuncture and facial sculpting

Important:
As with all electro‑therapy devices, the Dolphin is contraindicated for anyone with a pacemaker.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is gentle and adaptable, and most people can safely receive treatment. However, because I use a variety of techniques — including microneedling, microcurrent, LED light therapy, facial cupping, gua sha, sculpting massage, and buccal massage — there are a few situations where we modify or avoid certain modalities.

Microneedling / Nano‑needling

Avoid or postpone if you have: • Active acne breakouts or open lesions • Active cold sores (herpes simplex) • Recent sunburn • Active eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the area • Pregnancy (microneedling is generally avoided) • Use of Accutane within the last 6–12 months • Recent chemical peels or laser treatments • A tendency to form keloids

Electro‑microcurrent (including the Dolphin pen)

Avoid if you have: • A pacemaker (absolute contraindication) • A history of seizures • Metal implants in the face (case‑by‑case) • Pregnancy (avoid electrical stimulation)

LED Color Light Therapy

Avoid or modify if you have: • Photosensitivity or photosensitive medications • Migraines triggered by light • Active skin infections • Recent microneedling (LED should not be used immediately afterward)

Facial Gua Sha & Cupping

Avoid or postpone if you have: • Active acne or open lesions • Rosacea flare‑ups • Easy bruising or blood‑thinning medications • Recent filler injections (wait 3–4 weeks) • Recent Botox (wait 2 weeks)

Facial Sculpting Massage & Buccal Massage

Avoid or postpone if you have: • Active dental infections • Recent dental surgery (extractions, implants, root canals) • TMJ flare‑ups with acute inflammation • Recent facelift or facial surgery (typically wait 6–12 weeks or until cleared by your surgeon)

If you’re unsure, we can always adjust

Every session is customized. If a modality isn’t appropriate for you on a given day, we simply choose another approach. There is always a safe, effective way to support your skin and overall well‑being.

Scalp Treatments: Once weekly or every 2 weeks. If the skin
begins peeling reduce to once a month. You can tell
if scalp is peeling if there is dandruff present.

Micro-needling treatments: You may do 2 times a
month, but it is recommended once a month. Judge
each case individually and see how skin reacts. Is
there flaking? Peeling?

Nano-needling: You may do 2-3 times a week.

ELR: You may do once per week.

Facial Acupuncture, Tuning fork facial, Cupping, Gua Sha, and Facial Massage: can be done weekly for best results.
